Radio Controlled Electric Car
Built by Brian Elvidge
This model is of my own design and build and started as a project in 1991 to find out whether commercial radio control systems were compatible with the Meccano system. A number of experiments followed, this model being the latest offering. The model uses a two channel system to control the steering and the vehicle's speed via an on-board wire-wound controller. The gearing selected gives a top speed of about 5mph. The batteries used give around 45 minutes run time on this model.
