This ship model is built from fully detailed instructions by Bert Love in the April 1975 issue of Meccano Magazine Quarterly. He also describes a second Escort too.
The original was built from a set 6 of 1970, the Escort from a set 5. This model is the Leader model, and appears fairly realistic considering the few parts used. Not many modifications were considered necessary to build the model as it went together well.
It features gun turrets, a helicopter deck, typical bridge, mast and rigging, and is about two foot in overall length.
