Models built for the '14 Parts Plus Semi-Circular Plates Only' Secretary's Challenge

The Challenge:

I've 'borrowed' this Challenge from the Christchurch Meccano Club in New Zealand.  The challenge, which they ran in Spring 2007, is to build a model using no more than fourteen separate Meccano parts.  In addition you can use any number of part 37 (nut and bolt) and any number of part 214 (semi-circular plate).  Most of us will have a box full of these in an assortment of colours so it will be interesting to see what uses we can find for this very common part.

Built by Chris Warrell

This model uses eight semi-circular plates and exactly 14 other parts, plus nuts and bolts. It was inspired by some Frank Wright furniture from photos in a book. It's not so much a copy - it was more suggested by his designs.

This Challenge (to build a model using only 14 parts and as many of part 214 as you like, plus nuts and bolts) took some thinking about. What on earth do you do with part 214, the semi-circular plate? Although we have plenty of them they hardly ever ge...
