Built by Chris Fry in January 2013 for the Musical Instruments Secretary’s Challenge
A simple working instrument using 1” conical discs for the ‘zils’. I have incorporated a wheel disc between each pair of conical discs to enhance the sound made. Pleasingly, because the conical disc edges are closely matched, the sound can be abruptly stopped allowing a beat effect to be produced.
