Pumpjacks are more commonly known by colloquial names such as nodding donkeys and are a common sight in places like Texas, although not normally associated with a typical English village.
Pumpjacks are not a popular model for Meccano enthusiasts, which is surprising because they are similar to beam engines, and beam engines are a popular model.
