Chess or Draughts Board
Built by Brian Elvidge in June 2018 for the Games Secretary’s Challenge
This board is eight squares by eight squares, on a 12” base. It is built from a selection of flat plates of various colours, with angle girders around the four edges, and more plates to produce a 1½” surround on which four feet are fixed.
A set of commercially available chessmen are shown; these proved too much to build in this scale in Meccano parts.
