Performing Musicians

This is based on a № 3 outfit model featured in the March 1950 issue of Meccano Magazine. I built it as an amusing model to go in our 2013 display at the Eltham Centre prior to our Meccano Show.
The original used a few gears (there were none in the outfit) from the then newly-introduced Gears Outfit A, which was intended for use with the smaller sets. In fact nearly all the smaller-outfit models for the whole of that year made use of gears from the outfit.
I made my model pretty much as per the instructions, substituting an MO Motor for the Magic Motor and arranging separate drives to the musicians’ arms do that they move at different speeds.
