High Speed Steam Engine

This model was originally constructed by the Hungarian Andreas Konkoly; Nick Rodgers of the Runnymede Meccano Guild rewrote the instructions in 2013.

This is my slightly modified model. It has an upper base with five legs, a nice flywheel, a large cylinder and a valve cylinder, a four speed gearbox, driven by a can-type electric motor.

The model builds well, though the base construction could be better thought out.

In general a good display model.

March 2018

This version (later photos) has a slightly modified cylinder block and valve block to that published by the Runnymede Meccano Guild.

The model operates using a Power Drive motor this time and runs well and is a pleasure to build.
