3D Printed Meccano and Bako-Compatible Parts

Built by Richard Marsden in January 2016

Purists should look away now. Christmas was used as an excuse to buy one of these machines, a basic model, but very good and easy to use nonetheless. After a few test prints it was time to produce a couple of parts "Meccano never made", firstly a diagonal strip with holes 0.707" apart, ½" times the square root of two rounded to three decimal places, and secondly a rounded corner piece where curved flexible plates meet.

Because the printer was a joint present between myself and my wife, time was also taken to produce some parts "Bayko never made".

It should be noted that these machines are too slow for mass-production; the corner pieces each took over an hour to print. But they are addictive!
