Reduction Gears

These reduction gearboxes are my response to a ‘Brain Teaser’ posed in the September 2006 issue of the International Meccanoman magazine (IM49). (See the results in IM51)

The challenge was to build 100% Meccano reduction gears of ratios 100:1 and 110,000:1, both small enough to be kept together in one fist.

A supplementary question was “how do you produce devices offering 1,000,000 and 100,000,000 each small enough to be held in a fist?"
