37 Ton Capacity Steam Crane

The prototype was built for Ransomes and Rapier for the Great Eastern Railway in 1892. The only picture I have is not very clear so a lot of guesswork was needed for details of the superstructure.

In the original there would have been only one steam engine, but to make the model easy to operate for demonstration purposes each movement is operated by a separate electric motor.

I could see no handrails in the picture, but in this current age of safety awareness I thought it best to put some in.
