Robert Fulton’s Experimental Paddle-Steamer Engine

Robert Fulton’s first experimental steam boat was built in Paris and made its first successful voyage on 9th August 1803 on the River Seine. The motion of the engine struck me a good subject for a fascinating model.

To demonstrate how it fitted in the boat I have shown part of one side of the vessel and one paddle wheel.

Based on a model in the Science Museum, London.
