Bedford ‘O’ Type Tipper Lorry

This is my much-modified version of model 5.1 from the 1954–61 manual, along the lines of Bob Watson’s blue and yellow version seen in the Sheffield Meccano Guild Magazine.
By adding steering to the model, a totally new cab with cutaway bonnet to allow for the turning front wheels was needed.
The string-operated tipping mechanism of the manual model was changed to a screwed rod mechanism that simulates the usual hydraulic ram.
