Turntable Crane

This model in (mainly) 1950s style parts is a recreation of an Outfit № 5 model featured in an Instruction Manual from about 1912. By modern standards it is rather crude but the range of parts available at the time was very limited. With careful construction and only slight modification it works nicely and would give good play value. For exhibition purposes collars have been used in places instead of spring clips.

I wondered whether it would be possible to build a motorised version. It is more or less within the parts list of the original outfit except for the motors and their respective axles and pulleys. The braced girders were added for appearance and of course extra nuts and bolts were required (why were outfits so short of these items?).
