Thunderbird 4
Built by Brian Leach in January 2018 for the Beneath the Waves Secretary’s Challenge
I’ve always been a fan of Thunderbirds, particularly the original series. On building this, it presented no serious problems but there was a lot of plate bending required. Compound curves had to be approximated.
About my first use of flexible coupling units which connect the lighting unit to the body. The nozzles at the back of Thunderbird 4 are simply ½” face pinions. I have not bothered with any of the red decal on the model and I don’t think that’s a problem.
