Crossrail Tunnel Section with Tram
Built by Brian Elvidge in September 2018 for the Tunnels Secretary’s Challenge
Crossrail is the largest engineering project in Europe, creating a line from Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east to Reading and Heathrow in the west.
The model is built using flanged rings, between which are 12½” strips covered by flexible plates on a girder stand.
The tram is a very simple four-wheeled rail vehicle, with a trolley pick up added.
