Built by Frank Paine in June 2011 for the Other Systems Secretary’s Challenge
A № 1 Meccano Motor Car Constructor racing car. Brought out in the early 1930s, it is the “little brother” of the impressive № 2 Car, and also has a range of alternative parts that can be fitted to make different styles of vehicle. With a fairly powerful clockwork motor, it experienced rather a lot of “wheel spin” when demonstrated on the floor at the meeting.
