Flatbed Lorry

Upon obtaining a multi-kit vehicle cab I decided to build an ordinary flat bed lorry based around it. This was to be a ‘toy’-standard model rather than an accurate depiction of any particular lorry as the cab itself is not particularly realistic.
At exhibitions I like to have a tough model for children to play with and this will be that model.
It is actually driven by its ‘load’ of a Meccano № 2 clockwork motor driving through the ring ears on the plastic road wheels. This gives a realistic speed to the model. Chains and a few plates help to conceal the motor.
