Following some discussion with Ralph Laughton about making recognizable models from current times I wondered what I might be able to make from a “spare” Evolutions 4x4 kit which I had to hand.
My current interest in flywheel drives got me thinking about the Segway scooters that have been on the market now for several years. The wheels and tyres in the Evolution kit lent themselves to one of the ruggedized models but using only the other available parts was quite challenging.
After one or two false starts I realized I could use the plastic seats for the footplates and then it all came together!
I was also able to make a display stand for the model from the ‘left-over’ components with a little thought. I am quite pleased with the resulting Evolution Segway Scooter.
