Ruston Bucyrus 22RB Cambered Boom Drag Shovel

This is a freelance model of the Ruston Bucyrus 22RB cambered boom drag shovel with the later hydraulically-operated bucket. I have used the modern French plastic links and made some suitable drive sprockets from ¼” thick clear acrylic sheet.
The model’s main functions are all powered from one motor through mechanisms that allow mechanical forward/reverse operation. The bucket actuator is simulated with a micromotor equipped with a 100mm M4 threaded drive rod and some suitably sized brass and stainless-steel tubing.
The slewing bearing is built up from 6” circular discs and hub discs with semi floating ½” pulley rollers — experimental, but it seems to work!
